Interesting Facts about the US Presidents

on 3rd Nov, the US will be voting for the President. Here are few interesting facts about the US Presidents so far and I am sure you may NOT be knowing a few of them –

First four Presidents of the US were Founding Fathers of the US.

  1. George Washington (1st President of the USA)
  2. John Adams (2nd President of the USA)
  3. Thomas Jefferson (3rd President of the USA)
  4. James Madison (4th President of the USA)

George Washington was the first President of the US but he was not the first President to live in the White House. It was John Adams and his wife Abigail. He was the second President of the US.

10th President John Tyler has the maximum number of children while 4th President James Madison
11th President James K. Polk has NO Children.

Abraham Lincoln (16th President/6’ 4”) was the tallest President while James Madison (4th President/5’ 4”) was the smallest President of the USA. 

William Howard Taft (27th President) was the heaviest President 340 lbs (154.2 kg) while 4th President James Madison was the lightest with 100 lbs (45.4 kg).

Mt Rushmore, South Dakota has approx 60ft face depicts of U.S. presidents George Washington(1st), Thomas Jefferson (3rd), Abraham Lincoln(16th), and Theodore Roosevelt(26th) got completed in 1941.

23rd President Benjamin Harrison was the first president to use electricity in the White House. But he and his wife refused to touch the lights for fear of electric shock. 

Till now the USA had 45 Presidents, 4 of them are assassinated (Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, James A. Garfield, and William McKinley), while 4 died of natural causes during office (William Henry Harrison, Zachary Taylor, Warren Harding, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt).

Till now only twice, father and son had been the president of the USA

  1. John Adams (1797-1801) and John Quincy Adams (1825-1829)
  2. George H.W. Bush (1989-1993) and George W. Bush (2001-2009)

Current (45th) President Donald Trump is the oldest at the time of presidency (70 Years and 220 days) while 26th President Roosevelt was the youngest to assume the oval office at the age of 42 Years, 322 days.

Three presidents have been impeached in U.S. history: Andrew Johnson (17th) in 1868, Bill Clinton (42nd) in 1998, and Donald Trump (45th) in 2019. None were convicted.
